What's up?

Hi there!
Sorry for being so quiet. Time goes fast... It is early in the morning, the little black cat woke me up,
and I will soon go to work. This is just a small update of what is happening inmy life for the moment. Saturday me, Saralove and our sweet friend Ninni went to Jönköping to go to a concert where Unleashed played and it was great! We had such hangover the day after although we didn't drink at all, haha. Getting ooold! Sara drove us all the way to Jkpg, and home! She was so tired and I completely understand that - thank you, darling! <3

I just need to tell you that week ago Sara bought me a NES at a secondhand store! And that included Super Mario Bros and two hand controls. She cleaned everything and everything is working soo fine! HAPPY! She has a NES of her own and my family too, but this is my OWN. ;)

I have been buying almost every christmas gifts niw I think, feels great! Yesterday we bought all food for Christmas. Have to be prepared, you know. :) Maybe getting a christmas tree today or tomorrow from our own forest?

On Friday it is the Winter solstice (right word?) and of course we are going to celebrate that - in a pagan way.

I have no time to write more this time, have to get a move on!

Bye, bye!

Our home

I haven't show you much pictures of our home, have I? Anyway, here are some random pics of some of the rooms in our home. Picture above is, of course, the bedroom. We have a balcony outside where we put up the yearly blue lights on the other day. It will be Christmas soon and this weekend we have fixed a bit in the rooms like changing curtains and stuff to give the home a more Christmas-feeling. Not in a christian way (it is not their feast from the beginning anyway), we celebrate Christmas thinking more in a pagan way.

Kitchen

A part of the livingroom. Movies, mostly horror-movies

 Gremlins and stuff. ^^

Our sweet baby Chucky and between some serial killers Sara has been collecting.

Important: the cat's place in the kitchen where they eat. <3

A wall with fangs. And guess who's in the photo?

Sara's Elisabeth Bathory-doll

Me and Alice Cooper, not in the same time though.

One of our windows. Zeus loves the stars. <3

LUSH - Caca Noir - update

I am sitting here with Caca Noir from LUSH in my hair. As I wrote in a previous post I was going to test their hair color. As you know their hair colors are made of Henna, absolutely cruelty-free and totally vegan. You can buy it for about 145 SEK.

Anyway, I colored my hair with three blocks of the cake a few days ago and nothing happened. I waited 2-3 days because I have read it can take a few days for the color to appear. After 24 hours I saw my hair had gone a little bit more darker and in bright light the whole hair shifted in deeply tones of red as I also had read before because Henna is naturally red and to get the dark color LUSH has been blending Indigo (witch is blue) in it and that can lead to blue tones in your hair among the black/dark tones. I really thought it was exciting to crack the blocks (you get totally 6 blocks in one cake), blend them with hot water and put it in my hair although it was messy. It doesn't feel sticky at all or has that "chemical" feeling ordinary hair colors have. I had it in my hair for 5 hour before I rinsed it out with water. As I wrote before I didn't see any difference but my hair felt healthy and shiny. I read that you sometimes have to color your hair 2-3 times go get a darker result so now I am sitting here a second time and this time I blend the color with hot coffee instead of water and I had more coffee in it than I had water the last time because I wanted it to be more loose in the consistence, last time it became so goddamn messy with crumbs of Henna all over the bathroom floor. This time it was way more easier to put it in my hair, and I only used ONE block and it was enough for my hair. I was thinking of just coloring and focus on my roots this time but since I did the mix more loose it reached out to all my hair - great! So if it works better this time I have two more blocks to use. Saving money. ;) And if it doesn't work I will probably test some ordinary "black" Henna from other places I have found. Only cruelty-free of course.

ParaNorman

We watched ParaNorman yesterday and I really recommend it! It is a great, well-done movie with funny creatures (zombies and stuff) in it and good morals. ;D I don't want to spoil everything for you who haven't seen it yet, but I can say (if you didn't know it already) that the film is made of the same team that created "Coraline" a few years ago.

Different styles

My lovely sister gave me this beautiful necklace some years ago - matched the nails.

I'm in a nail art competition by e.l.f. Just for fun. I don't think I'm going to win, didn't want to spend too much time that day on my nails (but I'm still pleased with them anyway) but I never enter competitions like this. There are really amazing art works people have done. Check out their page on Facebook!

New toilet seat!

Sitting here listening to music (Killing Joke, Christian Death, Play Dead etc). It's so damn dark outside nowadays that sometimes I really have to force my eyes to be open. But the darkness here in town isn't anything compare to the darkness outside our summer house we were visiting yesterday. Had a really great day out there away from people and noise. We were using the fireplace a LOT. :) Sara made us the best pancakes in the universe after we'd done some things like cutting a bit of some trees which were scratching against the ceiling. We are preparing for taking the cats with us some weekend soon and spend it together all four of us in the forest. =^_^=

Last weekend we were visiting Thora, Saras extra-grandmother. <3

We were also (not me really I stayed at home) buying such an exciting thing as a new toilet seat for one of our bathrooms. We really hated the last one! It was a god-damn murder-weapon! It almost kicked you off to the floor because it couldn't sit still. So now we have a new one. Black with golden spots... I know it doesn't seems that nice but it actually looks like coming from a mountain or so. ^^ But the main reason we took it was because they hadn't these in store:

Early in the Morning

Sorry for being so lazy writing here... Have been working a lot and doing things I want and have to do like trying to keep up with my power yoga. I try to feel calm inside. This week I have walked around in my new beautiful headphones SaraDarling helped me fix last weekend. Love them! I have mostly been listening to Wolves in the Throne Room - really great music, meditating.

It is still early in the morning and the reason I am sitting here right now in front of the computer is that I really wanted to order some LUSH-products before work today (starting at 7).

Have a great day everyone out there! <3

Caca Noir

Feeling much better. No more about that shit. Changing subject to "hair color"! I have for years been using hair color from Jane Hellen and I really thought it was cruelty-free but now I have started to hesitage because I sent them an e-mail with questions about their testing-methods several days ago and I haven't got any answer! So I checked out hair stuff from wonderful cruelty-free LUSH and found hair color I am really excited to try! Totally vegan Henna with Indigo comes in cakes you have to blend and melt with hot water - exciting! :D Unfortunality I can't upload any picture here right now, writing from phone. I think the cost was about 20 Euro for one cake, and of course it is all individual how much you have to use. Not bad at all I think! And people seems happy about it!

Jag mår just nu så jävla dåligt och allt är mitt fel. Undrar om det någonsin kommer gå över? ......

Live music this week

Do as the little black cat says: listen to metal. Tomorrow we are going to visit Gothenburg for a concert with Alcest and Katatonia - great!

I also had a great weekend with Sara and some other family-members. There are several birthdays every autumn and people are living in different cities these days so we usually bunch the autmun-birtdays into one and this year the day was a Saturday. Too bad my sister could'nt join us. You will get you presents later! <3

We were in a record store the other day. Jackdaw Records in a town nearby. Sara bought some LP's, but mostly singles for a really nice price! I was going to buy this single I had been looking for for ages and when we were going to pay we got this for free. Thank you so veeery much again, Mats, owner of the store!

Eaten Alive

We saw this movie "Eaten Alive" a couple of days ago. Directed by Tobe Hooper (Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Poltergeist) and it was really funny! Hehe. It is from 1977 but we hadn't seen it before - great because we really felt for this type of movie that night. I actually most of the time feel for this type of movie every night, it makes me in a good mood. :)

"A psychotic redneck who owns a dilapidated hotel in rural East Texas kills various people who upset him or his business, and he feeds their bodies to a large crocodile that he keeps as a pet in the swamp beside his hotel."

As usual Hooper has some "creepy" characters in the movie such as this man played by our favourite: Robert Englund!

Lots of blood, half-naked stupid women and a starving crocodile. See it if you haven't seen it before!

Happy Halloween!

Do you test on animals?

I asked IsaDora and Nivea (Beiersdorf) about their testing-methods and here are the answers I got:

Nivea

Me:

"Hello!

I wonder how Beiersdorf perform tests on the products and the ingredients you do makeup / skincare in? The reason I ask is that I only want to use products that are non-animal tested.

Grateful for answers!
Best Regards Veronica"

Answer:

"Hello Veronica,

Testing of finished products on animals is banned since 2004 and in Beiersdorf's house has no products of animals tested since the 1970s. New materials may have been tested on animals by suppliers of raw materials, but are banned since 2009, with a few exceptions where you could not validate alternative testing methods. Beiersdorf has this contributed actively to the development of alternative testing in vitro, ie in vitro.
To ensure that our products are safe for our consumers, we test our products are dermatologically on a human test panel at the independent test institutes.
As regards the ingredients, they are not tested in the same manner. There they have available results of previous tests, and test results / information provided by the supplier of the raw materials. Irritation test is done for example by means of red blood cells (erythrocytes).
Based on all this data to make a safety assessment before determining which substances and which formula to choose.
We meet the obvious current legislation on animal testing and writes not of our products that are not tested on animals.

Kindly
May Laike
Consumer Activation Manager Sweden"

IsaDora

"Hello!

I know you do not test your makeup on animals. Is also the ingredients you manufacture makeup of non-animal tested?

Grateful for answers!
Best Regards Veronica"

Answer:

"Hello Erdena

IsaDora lets not test finished products or ingredients on animals, and never did.

There's also a reason that we are not on Animal Forensic website is that they want to ensure that the ingredients found in our products have never been tested on animals by anyone. This we can not vouch for because we do not know what other companies have done with these ingredients."

I'm pleased with the answer and from now on I am going to skip Nivea but still buy from IsaDora.

I also made a search in Lumene's website and found info that made me happy:

"We research promising new raw materials and technologies in the field in close co-operation with universities and researchers throughout the world. While testing products and raw materials, we do not carry out animal testing nor order it through subcontracting."

I have always bought from Nivea, IsaDora and Lumene because I trusted them but I always want to check things out once in a while and I am released I found and got the info I was looking for.

Use only CRUELTY-FREE products!!!

Lip stain and nail polish from elf

Sometimes I need to update myself when it comes to makeup and procucts so I really can tell that I don't use any products tested on animals. It is really hard when people write and say different about how procucts are tested. One day you can be absolutely sure about a company that says they don't do any harm against animals and the next day you hear/read something different from somewhere else.

When you get confused you can always read the truth right here at PETA'S website where they have their famous list about companies and how they are testing makeup and products, and they have really hard rules and conditions. If any company doesn't follow the conditions they become "kicked out" from the list. So you can really trust PETA!

I, for example, get a bigger and bigger collection of elf's cheap and wonderful makeup-products. And when it comes to skin care you can for example buy very good, fair stuff from the Bodyshop and LUSH. :)

The Cabin in the Woods

One of our friends Ninni recommended this film for us. We had been longing for it for a while now and finally we watched it last weekend. The film was quite interesting. Not the best one you have ever seen but a bit different from other "similar" films these days and absolutely worth seeing.
It came out a long time ago now... So many of you have of course already seen it for like 100 years ago.

I'm not going to tell you the whole story, but you can't tell much about the film without reveal everything. But one thing I can tell you is that it has some unexpected turns in it. And that is always fun.

Coraline

We saw this movie at the cinema, 2009. I really love it. We haven't seen it since then but we have had it on Blu-ray for a while and watched it last weekend. I love the story, the characters, the great animations, the dolls and backgrounds so many people were working so hard with. Thumbs up for them!

I'm really looking forward to see their new movie called "ParaNorman". Picture below.

Sara bought us this beautiful nail polish the other day, said we could share it. <3 I really love it! Felt like one of those color full beetles when I wore it. :D

Testing...

...to write something here via my phone. Did it work? ;)

Turtle nails!

My sweet sister sent me these pictures a while ago. Turtle nails!

...and converse nails! So pretty! :D I just had to put them up here. I really miss her and hope to see her soon. <3

elf

Last weekend we finally, after several months, ordered a bunch of make up products from wonderful elf. As I have written in posts before (maybe only in Swedish and if so I apologise, hehe) elf is a place where you can find everything when it comes to make up and nail polish. They have really good prices and then I mean really good prices. The products are not tested on animals.

At these pictures I have only been using make up and tools from elf. :)

Here are the produtcs I bought for about 22 Euro (200 kronor). That's not bad!

- liquid black eyeliner
- kohl eyeliner (elf studio)
- nail polish "smokin' hot"
- eyelid primer "sheer"
- lip stain "red carpet"
- all over cover stick "ivory"
- clarifying pressed powder

...and brightening eye colour "drama" I forgot when I took the picture but you can see it on the other picture below.

...and here are the products I have used for this make up (cat not included).

The main reason I ordered this time was for the lip stain I've been longing for, for a long time now. I really like it! It dries quickly and as long as you don't wear the gloss that belongs to it (because that makes it messy) it stays in place for hours. Many years ago I used Max Factor's Lip Finity but I really can't find any info about how they test their products (if you have any info about that please tell me!) and I only use non-animal-tested products and don't want to take chances.

Today's music

Today me and our cats were listening to this LP I got from my lovely Sara the other day. Thank you! <3 It sounded great and I'm so happy for having it in my collection.

Tuesday-thoughts

As I wrote in a previous post I woke up with a (goddamn) cold Sunday morning and I'm still sick and home from work. Hoping to be back tomorrow. I had promised myself not to do the same mistake I did last year when I worked at several kindergartens. I got sick from all the bacterials and other fun stuff from the sweet children, hehe, and didn't give a damn about it because I really needed the money. The punishment was that I never got better but still worked (idiot) and after a while I was completely exhausted. Do you recognize this? I think it's all too common people do this to themselves. But I'm really going to avoid that kind of stupidness from now on because I missed more days from work at that time when I finally didn't come out of bed and had to call me in sick than I had missed if I just had been smart staying at home one day or two in the beginning of it. But then I didnt know I was going to get some workingdays later... Gah, it is not easy being reserve in case the ordinary workers take time off/are sick. You never know. ^^

Today we are celebrating Zeus who turns 10 years old - Horraaayyy!! :)
